We’re not in Control
Jummah Mubarak, sis! Remember, you’re not in control, and that’s perfectly okay. The One who shaped the mountains so majestic yet calming to the eye. The One who causes every beat of your heart. The One who gives life to the tiniest creatures and provides in ways beyond our imagination. The One who sustains you even when your funds run low. That is the Creator who is truly in control.
This Jummah and beyond, let’s remind ourselves that what looks uncertain or heavy today may simply be a hidden blessing waiting to unfold. So clear your vision, lift your hands in dua, walk with grace, and place your trust in the One who created you. He is in control, always.
Surah At-Talaq (65:3):
“And whosoever puts their trust in Allah, then He will suffice them. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a measure.”
No matter our struggles or uncertainties, if we rely on Allah, He will provide and take care of us in ways beyond what we can imagine. This ayah is one of the most powerful reminders of tawakkul — complete trust in Allah. It tells us that no matter what we go through, when we hand our affairs over to Allah with a sincere heart, He Himself becomes enough for us. His help is not partial, it is complete sufficiency.
The verse also reassures us that Allah’s plan is never random. Everything is already written with divine wisdom and set at a precise measure. Sometimes what seems like a loss, delay, or hardship is actually an exact part of His greater plan; a plan we cannot see yet, but one that is designed perfectly for us.
Think about it: the same Allah who split the sea for Musa (AS), who brought water out of the rock, who sustained Maryam (AS) with provision from the unseen, that same Allah is the One managing your affairs right now. If He can provide for the smallest creatures and move the stars in their courses, then surely He can take care of your worries and your sustenance.
This ayah is not just a statement; it’s a promise. Allah promises that if you truly trust Him, He will be enough. And when Allah is enough for you, you lack nothing.
So this Jummah, let’s let go of the illusion of control, stop exhausting ourselves in worry, and lean into the One who already has every detail measured and written. Walk with grace, make dua, and rest your heart in knowing that Allah is both the Protector and the Provider.
