Growing in Private
The most beloved deeds to Allah are those done consistently, even if small."
Hadith — Bukhari and Muslim
Jummah Mubarak, sis. No one sees the extra rakah you prayed at midnight, or the dua you whispered in the car before walking into a room that scared you. But growth that happens where no one is watching is still growth. It still counts.
We live in a season that rewards what is visible. The post, the announcement, the milestone everyone can see and celebrate. But your deen was never built for an audience. Some of the most beloved acts to Allah are the ones only He witnesses. The quiet istighfar between tasks. The two rakah you almost skipped but didn't. The patience you held onto when no one would have known if you let it go.
This is the part of growth that does not trend, but it is the part that lasts. It is slower, and it asks more of you, because there is no applause to keep you going. Just you and Allah, and the choice to keep showing up anyway.
Questions to sit with this Jummah
What is one act of worship I have been consistent with, even when no one was watching?
Where have I been chasing visibility instead of sincerity?
If Allah is the only witness to my effort this week, does that change how I show up?
A few ways to grow this week
Choose one small, sustainable act of worship and commit to it daily, even if it is only five minutes.
Make one dua in private that you have not said out loud to anyone.
Before a hard moment, pause and ask Allah for consistency, not just strength.
May your Friday be full of the quiet kind of barakah, the kind that builds you from the inside out.
