It’s not Just a Dream

Jummah Mubarak, sis! You may not be among the millions making Hajj this year, but that doesn't mean it’s out of reach. Next year, you could be standing on the plains of Arafat, completing one of the greatest acts of worship in Islam—the fifth pillar, Hajj. It’s not just a dream—it's a vision that starts with a sincere intention and a clear plan. Remember, failing to plan is planning to fail.

So today, make the niyyah: “Ya Allah, make me one of the hujjaj next year.” Then follow that powerful du’a with equally powerful action. Begin learning about the sacred rites of Hajj, and reflect deeply on why Allah swt has made this journey a divine obligation. Understanding the why strengthens the will.

If you're looking for support, Girls Gone Hajj is the only organization exclusively focused on preparing women for this transformative journey. They’re here to guide you every step of the way—spiritually, practically, and emotionally.

Taking steps toward your Hajj du’a could look like:

  • Opening a dedicated Hajj savings account.

  • Enrolling in educational courses that prepare you spiritually and logistically.

  • Talking to loved ones about your goal so they can support and make du’a for you too.

And even if you're not performing Hajj this year, don’t overlook the immense power of these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah. They are the best days of the entire year—better even than the days of Ramadan. Maximize them by making bold du’as, giving generously in charity, constantly remembering Allah swt, and guarding yourself from sins.

These are days of increase, and we ask for increase only in that which brings us closer to Allah, closer to Jannah, and closer to fulfilling our highest purpose.

Surah Al-Imran 3:97 – Deeper Reflection

"In it are clear signs, the standing place of Ibrahim. And whoever enters it shall be safe. And Hajj to the House is a duty that mankind owes to Allah—for those who can find a way thereto. And whoever disbelieves—verily, Allah stands not in need of any of the worlds."
— (Qur’an 3:97)

This powerful ayah reminds us that Hajj is not just a journey—it’s a divine obligation for those who are physically and financially able. The Ka'bah holds clear signs of Allah’s guidance, like the Maqam of Ibrahim, and serves as a spiritual sanctuary. Entering its sacred space brings safety, mercy, and renewal.

The ayah teaches that:

  • Hajj is a personal duty to Allah—not optional for those who can afford it.

  • Planning and intention matter—start with du’a, savings, and learning.

  • Allah doesn’t need our worship, but we need His mercy—so take this seriously.

Even if you're not going this year, these first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah are a spiritual gift. Use them to purify your heart, increase your worship, and prepare for Hajj in the near future.
