Gather Your Harvest
Jummah Mubarak sis,
"...Eat of its fruit when it yields, and give its due on the day of its harvest..."
(Surah Al-An'am, 6:141)Allah ties the harvest to two things: enjoying what He gave, and sharing it.
Summer has slipped away. The long bright days are behind us, and it's tempting to feel a little wistful about it. But autumn is harvest season. The apples, the pumpkins, the grain all exist because summer did its work. The fullness didn't disappear. It turned into something you can hold.
Our cycles work this way too. The energetic, radiant days pass, and we can mourn them as if we've lost ourselves. But what we built in those days, the conversations, the work, the worship, the kindness, doesn't vanish when our energy shifts. It becomes our harvest.
Allah says that if we are grateful, He will surely increase us (14:7). So this week, instead of looking back at summer with longing, look at what it left you. Thank Him for it. And give its due by calling a sister who's struggling, sharing your time, or giving sadaqah from what you've been blessed with.
This Jummah, write down three things your last season grew in you, and say Alhamdulillah for each one out loud.
