Jummah Mubarak sis,
"Do you not see that Allah sends down rain from the sky, and We bring forth by it fruits of varying colors? And in the mountains are streaks of white and red of varying shades, and others deep black."
(Surah Fatir, 35:27)
Allah points us to color as one of His signs. This month, the trees are pointing too.
Here's something beautiful about autumn. The reds, oranges, and golds we see in October aren't new. Those colors were inside the leaves all summer, hidden under the green. Only when the leaf begins to let go does its true color finally show.
Think about that. What looks like dying is actually revealing.
So many of us feel least beautiful in our "letting go" seasons: the tired, tender days before our cycle, the postpartum months, the years when our bodies begin to change with age. But maybe those are the moments when what was always inside us finally shows, like our patience, our depth, our softness, and our wisdom.
The world teaches us to fear fading. Allah teaches us to look closer. Some of the most beautiful things He made only shine once the green falls away.
This Jummah, take a walk if you can. Look at the trees, and let them remind you of who you are.
