Rest Is Not Weakness

Jummah Mubarak sis,

"And when My servants ask you concerning Me, indeed I am near. I respond to the call of the caller when he calls upon Me."
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:186)

Even in the seasons when you can't pray salah, He is near, and He is listening.

The nights are getting longer. Soon the branches will be bare and the ground will be hard and cold. If you didn't know better, you'd think nothing would ever grow again. But the trees aren't dying. They're going quiet on purpose, pulling their strength down into their roots. Rest is how they survive.

Our menstrual days are a kind of winter. We rest from salah, our energy dips, and some of us feel cut off, even spiritually distant. But this rest is not a punishment. When Aisha (ra) wept because her period began during Hajj, the Prophet ﷺ comforted her, saying it was something Allah had written for the daughters of Adam. It's a decree, and a mercy.

Your connection to Allah doesn't pause. Dhikr, du'a, salawat on the Prophet ﷺ, and quiet conversations with your Lord are all still yours. Sometimes the most honest worship happens when we're stripped back to just our hearts.

If you're heading into a winter season, in your cycle or in your life, know that you are not dead. You are rooting.

Jummah Mubarak. Send abundant salawat today.
